Frequently Asked Questions

I like the sound of it, how do I get started?

Just contact us, we’ll have a chat on the telephone then arrange a meeting.
We’ll discuss all your goals and your availability, working out a plan between us on how we’re going to proceed.
If we’re both happy we’ll make a great team, we arrange the first session and using all the information we’ve gathered, we write a program for you and then get started.
It’s as easy as that!

How often should I exercise to get the best results?

Twice a week is really the minimum, three good sessions a week are ideal.
Your body adapts to exercise in the rest periods between workouts, so overdoing it can be counter-productive. We monitor every aspect of your training and constantly adjust your programme to suit the way you feel and what you want to achieve.

How long will it be before I see results?

You should feel better after about four sessions and look visibly better after about a month. If you were to follow the programme to the letter, then the skies the limit, you could drop up to three sizes or the equivalent of six inches from your waist in six weeks! You’re only limited by the strength of your desire!

I’m an experienced sportsman with my own coach who deals with my technique, why would I need personal training from Gingerfit?

We can work as part of a sports team, our job is to analyse the movements and demands of you particular sport and write and execute programs that will make you fitter, stronger and less likely to get injured, culminating in improved performance.
We work along side your specialist coach to give you the best of both worlds and squeeze the most from your potential.

I’ve got heart problems, but I’d really like to exercise to prevent things getting worse, is that possible?

Very much so, Cardiac Rehabilitation is one of our specialities.
We would contact your Doctor/Specialist for more information and with that we would plan the best way to safely proceed. By starting off very gently and proceeding slowly from there, a lot of positive moves can be made to prevent more problems and to vastly improve your quality of life.

I think I’m quite fit, but I’m not really sure how to measure it, I only know I want to improve, how could you show how I’m progressing?

Leave it to us. Experience, lifestyle and posture give us a good idea, plus we have a variety of fitness tests, to give a clear indication of what we need work on.
All our programmes are designed to be clearly measurable; your progress will be obvious to you and everyone else!

What should I wear and what should I bring with me?

Training shoes, loose comfortable clothes, a positive attitude and a sense of humour!
